"Day In The Life"
The "Day In The Life" (DITL) subgroup of our New Tower Expansion Committee was comprised of myself, another co-worker, and the Cardiac ICU educator Sara Knippa. After key concepts and points were received from the educator, director of critical care medicine, and our chief nursing officer, I was able to write a rough draft of the scenarios. Multiple revisions were made to each scenario to ensure that a variety of ideas and concepts were included before presenting to the New Tower Expansion Committee. At that time input was received from all, and a final Scenarios product was completed. Starting in April 2013, one month before the move, I was in charge of scheduling, implementing, and managing 12 different 4 hour classes for Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Advanced Care Partners, and Patient Service Coordinators to learn what a "Day In The Life" would look like in the new Critical Care Tower.
